Where to see British Shorthair cat shows in the South?
Look for specialist/variety shows on the GCCF show calendar Events from 26 September 2026 – 20 February 2027 – The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy
Most British Shorthair shows in the UK are run under the GCCF (Governing Council of the Cat Fancy) umbrella, so starting with their show/event listings is the best route.
Our own Annual Show will be next be held on 27th March 2027 - Southern British Shorthair Cat Club - The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy in Ware Hertfordshire at Wodson Park just off the A10.

GCCF JPG 3 Judges Progression Group
The Southern British Shorthair Cat Club have been working with the JPG to produce this Seminar which will be held at the GCCF Joint show held with the Cambridge Cat Club which includes Section 3 breeds, at Wodson Park in Ware on March 27th 2027.
The JPG plan on having British Shorthairs, British Longhairs, Selkirk Rex, and Chartreux.
The cats show above are created by AI, they are not perfect examples of the 5 breeds so we plan on helping our judges and breeders, exhibitors understand what we look for in these 5 breeds. The plan is to also have cats that are not show quality and it will be explained why they are not of competition standard. We will aim to be starting around 12pm and finish before the BOV judging starts at 2pm.
There will be 2 sessions:
BSH & MANX - Sue Dalton-Hobbs
BLH, Selkirk & Chartreux - Pam Beardsmith.
There will be opportunities for candidates to "feel " the cats as this is a training seminar.
